Join the NWO Round Table Computer Science!

Are you interested in science and science policy and would like to learn more about it? Do you find it interesting to follow developments in the field of science and would you like to contribute ideas about NWO funding instruments, policy and initiatives?

The executive board of the NWO Domain Science appointed seven disciplinary consultation committees, the so-called ‘round tables’. They are made up of researchers, and are intended to ensure that the research field is organised to provide advice to the Domain Science Board. One of the tables is the Round Table Computer Science.

Advisory and signal function

A member of the Round Table has both an advisory function and a signalling function towards the Domain Board Science. In your advisory role, you provide solicited and unsolicited advice on various policy themes, such as diversity, open science, international affairs, talent development and thematic programming. You may also be asked to provide feedback on internal process improvements of NWO and on assessment procedures used. You are the liaison between the broad Science field and NWO. From this role, cooperation can be promoted and the relationships between the parties involved can be improved. For example, think of informing and involving researchers affiliated with the advisory table, platforms, conferences and the internal channels of your own faculty or university.

Solicited and unsolicited input

The Round Table Computer Science invites the research field to deliver solicited and unsolicited input and to draw the Table’s attention to relevant developments in the field, so that the Table is in a position to represent the research field in a well-informed and well-supported way.
