Personal data

IPN processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Information will not be used for purposes that are not compatible with the original purpose. In processing personal data, IPN follows the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality. As regards subsidiarity, IPN will consider whether the objectives served by the processing of data could also be achieved in other ways, using less personal data or using less sensitive personal data to infringe less on the privacy of the data subject(s). The processing of personal data should also be proportionate to the intended purpose. As such, IPN collects no more data than is required for the intended purpose.

Subscription for Newsletters and Magazines

We use the personal data you submitted to send you the I/O magazine. You can un-subscribe anytime. Your personal data will then be deleted immediately. You can un-subscribe for all our magazines by sending an e-mail to ipn@nwo.nl.

Rights of data subjects

Due to the arrival of the GDPR, the processing of personal data is subject to several rules. If opportune IPN handles data of data subjects securely and carefully. Data subjects have the right to access, amend, delete or limit the data IPN holds about them, or to transfer their personal data to someone else.

Right to access

If IPN processes personal data, you can request an overview from us. We will then tell you, among other things, what we use this data for, how long we hold your personal data and what you can do if there are inaccuracies in your personal data. Needless to say, IPN must be completely certain that we are providing the personal data to the right person. As such, we ask you to send us a copy of your passport or other identification along with your access request. When doing so, IPN asks you to obscure your social security number and photograph.

Correcting or supplementing your data (rectification)

If IPN processes personal data and the personal data that IPN holds contains errors or omissions, you may submit a request for rectification.

Deleting your personal data (right to be forgotten)

If IPN processes personal data, you can request IPN to delete your data from our systems under certain circumstances. IPN cannot delete your data when it processes it for the performance of its legal task.

Transferring your data (data portability)

If IPN processes personal data, you can, if you wish, obtain a copy of the data we hold about you. You can transfer this data yourself or have us transfer it to third parties.

Temporarily halting the processing of your personal data (restriction)

If IPN processes personal data and you want to have the processing of your data temporarily stopped, you can submit a request.

Objecting to the processing of your data

If IPN processes personal data, a data subject may exercise the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning him/her for reasons related to his/her particular situation. If a data subject objects, IPN will cease processing, unless compelling legitimate grounds provide otherwise.
