We are pleased to announce that Kerstin Bunte and Hannes Mühleisen have confirmed to be chairmen at ICT.OPEN2019. They both have a strong connection to the ICT field and are very motivated to be able to contribute to ICT.OPEN2019.
Dr. Kerstin Bunte is an Assistant Professor and Rosalind Franklin Fellow in the Intelligent Systems group at the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen. She is furthermore Honorary Fellow at the University of Warwick and the University of Birmingham in the UK. And Dr. Bunte is a partner in the European ITN SUNDIAL and recently joined the national Regions of Smart Factories project, which is a collaborative effort between industrial and academic partners to develop new methodology for the factory of the future.
Her recent work focused on the development of interpretable machine learning techniques for interdisciplinary data analysis with applications areas ranging from astronomy, medicine, pharmaceutics and industry.
Dr. Hannes Mühleisen is a staff researcher in the Database Architectures Group at the NWO institute Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica in Amsterdam. Hannes is also Assistant Professor (UD) in the High-Performance Distributed Computing Group at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Hannes’ research is focused on data management for statistical analysis, with special attention on creating Open-Source software systems for the public benefit.
